Radar Detectors and the like
«

so i don't know where else this could fall in the forum, but if it needs to be moved then i don't mind. anyway..
im trying to get an idea of what kind of radar detector everyone uses. right now i am trying to decide between the Escort Passport 8500 X50 or a Valentine One. i know that the best way to avoid a speeding ticket is to not speed, blah blah blah. but sometimes we can't help it, and we speed! so if anyone on here has one of these two detectors, post up what you think of them!
or just post up what you have and what you think of it!

valentine one!
If they ever come out with a newer model, you can just send it in and pay an update fee for them the update it (fee depends on the type of update, firmware or hardware).

I have the escort 9500. Lets you set reminders to speed traps and block out bad signals via GPS. Awesome.

v1 retail is 399, alot of places sell it with extra accessories for 499, you can also get a "refurbished" model from v1 for 10% off, just call them and ask to purchase one of those, they warranty it and everything
and the license plate stealth coating stuff is a joke...if you want to achieve the same thing, you can get high lacquer varnish from home depot for $10, the best it does is blur out your license plate when someone at a meet takes a picture with flash lol

didn't know that about the v1, i'll have to look into what all extra in included.
i had a funny feeling that the Veil was a joke. i mean it may work, but i'd much rather invest in a laser jammer...they seem to work from the multitude of videos online.

Escort Passport 8500 FTW!
I've been using mine since it came out and it has worked flawlessly. I highly recommend it.

I use a top of the line (i think) whistler. Pennies on the dollar vs v1 & escort. Almost equal performance.

I've got a Beltronics V940. A step above entry level, but damn good for the price.

I have had my V1 for over a year. Before that i had a passport but once you get used to the arrows its like a drug. Its like having someone go "the cops in that direction!!" and point to them lol I would not get another radar detector beside a Valentine V1
