ROLL OUT ALLERT:  THIS PLACE FILLS UP FAST AND EARLY, Arie and I have been discussing the possiblity of a very early AM rollout - LIKE 6 AM EARLY.:D

This meet is exactly 8 DAYS AWAY.

I believe its $15 to spectate, $30 to park in the pits (which means we can park as a group, and $40 to race, its well worth the money and a crazy fun day if you've never done it before.

I, along with a bunch of other members attended this event last year, it was an absolute blast, but there was only one issue: not enough Accords!!

Lets get this thread started early, and represent over there, I know I'll be going, and I'm sure a bunch of other Gen7's/Gen8's will be as well.  We need some Gen 8's to represent, plus if your interested its a great opportunity to run your car down the track and see what its capable of (I have a helmet and have no problem lending it out if you don't own one, as they require it to race) - They do rent helmets, but you need to get there early if you want to rent one.  

This is a great chance to come out, have fun and meet other Honda/Acura enthusiasts.

To avoid last years confusion, 1) should we set this up to arrive as early as possible so that we can reserve our area? 2) should we setup a list of those who will race, show or neither. (my recommendation is to have at least everyone show so that we can keep all the rides together.

Enrique I listed you over on DriveAccord, as for Nick and Z I will update the lists tomorrow, we have a few Gen7's/8s on DriveAccord who already replied, this meet has the potential to be great for us, I puprosely posted far in advance to get people aware, and so those who need to ask/request saturdays off can make this one, its truly a great time!!

I'll put myself on the list as a "maybe" for now.  I am going to be in NJ the week before, so I'm not 100% sure I want to make the trip one week later.  If I come, I'm hitting the track though.

Dam that list is filling up pretty fast. What is required in order to show ya car or are they gonna be nit picky about every lil dent, scratch or rock chip when comes time to judge  

they judge more on mods i guess. dont think they are very picky about dents and stuff

Nothing assuming the car isnt smashed up you can usually show.  I have a few small dings, scratches, etc.  They will let you show pretty much as long as you pay for it, LOL.

I'm not 100% sure what your plans are, but aside from you, I will probably have the highest HP 7th Gen from our crowd there.

Ill be going to Paul for a bunch of goodies and a healthy bump in hp and Tq, I should be in the 260 whp and 220 wtq range all said and done, estimating based on other people with essentially the same setups, but I'll be doing it right and adding a few other goodies they don't have.  I won't give details if what I'm doing but I'll reveal the end result once complete.  The few of you who know what I'm getting done, please do not share , I think you'll all like the end results though.

Anyway, I can’t wait to the 15th this is the next real event I will attend.  Sad to say the monkey will not be joining me on this trip.  

I have some time on hand to get the killer glass finally in and a few other things in the works.  The track is starting to get tempting but I think I will stay in show to win noting…  If my friend drives out in his oddy I may hit the track since I will be able to store some of the items from my trunk in his car… Let’s see!!!

Anyway, I'm hoping that my stereo will be a little more "modular" by then so that I can remove it to reduce weight when I hit the track.  I just hope I have somewhere to put it when I do remove it.

E-town has helmets for sale, they run like $130-250 dependant, they also rent out helmets, but only have like 10-15 available and they usually get rented fast.  I bought mine while there last year at Honda Day.

Hmmm.  $100 for a helmet?  I think that might be worth it if I come down there.  Of course, I'm not sure how much track time I will get.  I still haven't been able to find any local auto cross events around here that I can get involved with.

As an FYI, Honda day might not be the best day for all of us to race. Last year Kevin & I were only able to make two runs, even if my ride didn't break, we still probably would have only done those two runs.

Here are some different ideas, let me know what you guys think. If we get there early enough, we can do autocross instead. or we can just show all the rides, hang out, bull shit and laugh at all the ricers and maybe setup some other day to go racing.

The racing is fun, but its more the event I'm going for this year, Its worth owning a helmet even if you only go a couple times a year.

You can take me off the list for this.  I've decided to free up some of my weekends, so I will not be travelling down for this meet.

For the Brooklyn heads, what route are ya'll guys taking to get up there? The expensive route (Verrazano bridge) or the cheap route (Holland Tunnel)? So far I'm gonna be meeting up with Arie at around 6 am.

I am open to whatever route we take. If going through the holland tunnel will end up being cheaper, I'm down for that, but the best thing to do is if we will be there as a group to leave the area as a group and caravan all together.

This swap has been possible for over a year and a half, its not catching on as fast or hard because its not as straightforward as a b-series swap, you need the engine, trans, ecu, and a bunch of other supplemental stuff.  As Misha said, the Acura guys gotta worry, we have the low-end J-series motors.  Also, there are mount kits from hasport, but in terms of theft, just keep your car locked, alarmed and garaged.

Other issue is the clearance, I don't think the hood can close, I think it needs to be changed.

wouldnt this be harder since you swaping from car that never came with this and stuff. wouldnt a lot of custom fab be involved with this?

Dame i wish i went, sucks that Honda Day was scheduled the same day as Summer Sendoff in Boston which is one of the big shows. I will definetly be making the drive to the next one. I want to see where my car stands out with the big boys

Not everyone can do garage like you Kev (lucky bastard), some of us have to park in parking lots or on the streets under trees with pollen, birds, spiders etc

 

For the 5th time, they are gonna go for the ACURA V6 motors (more powerful), ours are probably still on the safe side.  Additionally these mount kits have been available for quite a little while now, and the swap has been possible, but unlike all their other B series swaps, they need to get the tranny, ECU, and supplemental stuff, chances are it won't catch on like the B series theft crazyiness
