Title: OEM H/U Help
Post by: CrazyCreashunz on December 14, 2009, 10:06:10 PM
I have a question...

Has anyone here had the cd player part of their OEM H/U fixed or replaced? I might wanna put the OEM H/U back in but my cd player function won't play cd's. Would Honda fix this? How much do you think they will charge or should I just go with the Metra Kit since my ride is currently set up with it?

Reason im asking is because I recently had my ride broken into and the radio stolen. Im pressed on cash right now but would like to clean up the middle of the console so it doesnt look like I just stole the car lolzzz....

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Hey man, I'm going to go by the junkyards around my house tomorrow and see if they have any radios. 03-07 are all the same? PM me the features of your car (dual temp etc). Maybe I can find something for really cheap. Doesn't hurt to try.

EDIT: I know you can call Honda and they'll give you the address to send it to and I believe they fix most of those problems for $200-300 I've heard.

Well goin to the dealer, you know the price "might" be up there. You can probably call or go there and speak to a service advisor. Does it eject the cd? Maybe the eye is bad or maybe the cd player is just dirty and needs a good ol cleaning.

Thanx Eric and Steve...

I have an 03 ex dual climate control from factory that has an adapter to make it single (metra kit).

Billy the junk yards in the Bronx have these radios.   Take a drive on the cross bronx and get out on Sheridan Ave it will be on your left.

I was shopping for a used axle.

Yea I know the area, I got my window replaced down the block lolz. Good looking out! I honestly didn't realize you can get a radio from the junk yard, I thought just actual car parts. Never been to a junk yard but I will check it out if anything.

Yup they do. I'm heading over there after work (the junkyards in Willets Pt not BX.) . Text me how much you're willing to spend so I know how much to negotiate with them on these prices. Can't have my man riding without music!

Well just check prices for now. Im not ready to buy as of yet. Also make sure they got security codes for the radio otherwise that could be a problem. Thanks dude.

Sounds good. I'll let you know what they wanted for the radios later today.
