Post by: Nit3h4wk C0uP3 on July 16, 2012, 09:42:33 PM
About Me:
Real Name: Denny Lalime (Denise, yes I'm a girl)
Location: Freezing in NH #shirelife
Occupation: Human Resources by day, freelance illustrator by night.
Interests: Big geek here, Batman, Star Trek, etc, love Patriots football, and throwing a huge annual Halloween party :) Music addict, coffee addict, and learning about cars ......addict :)

About My Car
Model: 2003 Coupe EX Navi 4cyl
Color: NHBP
Tranny: Auto-tragic
Status: Alive (mods are stagnant, only doing routine maintenance while hoarding parts)

History:

I am the fourth owner of this car. Which was treated like crap before I got it. There was a rotten apple under the passenger seat, cigarette burns in the ceiling and floor, broken glass all over the inside, melted crayons, etc etc.. When I went to look at the car, it was covered in dust, barely running on a crappy battery. (it had to be jumped every time I wanted to start it) I spend 4980.00 to get it, and I've put almost 30k back into it ... and still counting.. I just love this car and I've got a ways to go...

Drove car without power steering fluid to the garage, where it immediately got the following done:

-Left rear caliper
-right rear caliper
-both rear brake rotors
-air filter
-new battery
-right rear tail light assembly
-oil filter
-upstream oxygen sensor
-transmission cleaner and conditioner
-transmission fluid
-brake fluid

-new catalytic converter
-2nd oxygen sensor

On a side note, one of the mods might say something about the double signature.

This is where my dumb starts showing...lol what makes something a J-series? And this is sought after I take it?

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: gargantula99 on July 19, 2012, 08:27:01 AM
The 6 cylinder accord has a J -series engine. The 4 cylinder has a k-series engine.

All J-series 03-07 accords are J30's (3.0 liter V6) but depending on the year of the car it could be a J30A4 or J30A5.

All K- series 03-present accords are K24's (2.4 liter inline 4's).

Those two series of engines basically make up most of honda's current engine lineup. All though the j's do have different engine displacements. I'm pretty sure the k only comes in one size and I believe the civic have R's and Fits have L series engines. (I could be wrong there)

Hope that helps.

Edit: made some corrections.

I believe there are quite a few variations of the K-series as well. I'm sure Tim can enlighten you since he's a master of the K-series. The models, if I am not mistaken, are K24A2 through K24A8. I don't know much about them since I have the J-series but just some FYI  :)

Most of what he said and yes this site is an eye opener when it comes to gen7 accords and even Hondas in general because, for some us, this is not our first Honda

I'm not too enlightened when it comes to the K's.  Tim is the most knowledgable person I know when it comes to those engines.

to be exact, there are k24a1,a2,a3,a4,a8 and those are just the 2.4. the k20 also has many variations as well. there are some of us, like tim and myself that have franked motors where we use different block-head combinations that of course are not stock.

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: gargantula99 on July 19, 2012, 10:28:37 AM
What I do is use some quick detailer and an old rag.  Can't really screw anything up by going that route. Some people actually use a hose, that's a little scary for me,

I have to grow a set

You're a woman, please don't.

Don't worry about cleaning your engine. I would use engine degreaser and a wheel brush on mine to clean everything. you just want to make sure to cover your alternator with a plastic bag and maybe your battery terminals. When you rinse everything off, just use a low stream of water, not high pressure.

If you want a good "how to" on engine detailing, there's a lot of good info on auto geek.net.

Headlight work today! Found some damage behind the driver's side light, so the housing couldn't be painted, and the LED strip will have to wait. In the meantime, I have to look for replacement OEM headlights (I love setbacks) and I did have an HID kit put in...  the saga continues....

I know this guy in RI (Me) that has a set in his basement. They need polishing but, for the right price he would probably even do the work...

Whats the price on Amazon. These are OEM by the way. The def need some work but, they could be made to look good. You want black housed?

Amazon's cheapest was about 87 with shipping...I have already paid to have someone paint the housings and etc..I just need new OEM lights without a big crack down the back of it, filled in with some goopy black epoxy of some sort...that was a surprise lol...

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: timot_one on July 24, 2012, 05:37:20 PM
The sedan bumpers are wider than the coupe. There is a small gap and the part of the bumper between the grille and headlight doesn't line up perfectly with the fenders.

So, you got an 06-07 front bumper?

Front, nothing.

Rear for the 06-07 tail pipe cut outs.

I don't know, there may be no difference. I got it off of ebay, and the description said it was for a V6. The only difference I can see between the new bumper and mine, is that it has fog light holes...did I get screwed? Somehow?

You can take the plastic inserts out of your current bumper to fill the fog holes or get fogs.

Yeah, ive seen it too.  Always wanted a die cast or something of a 7th Gen coupe.  I used to have a Model of a 5th Gen sedan racecar, it was pretty sweet.

I believe Matchbox makes an 8th Gen sedan.  They also have one that I swear is called Beater or something like that and its a rusty ass Civic bubble. Lol

Im not ashamed to admit that one year while I was working at the Dollar Tree I bought the Supra, Charger, Yenko Camaro, F-150 Lightning and Eclipse from The Fast and The Furious series.  They came in and I just had to have them. Lol  Except for Hectors Civic, I didnt care for it so I didnt get it. Lol

Alot of visual damage but, non of the repairs seem like they are that bad. First step is to make a list of the body parts you need. I would suggest going aftermarket because OEM stuff is expensive. The frame is in good condition right?

I checked my papers from NTB too (because i'm crazy and save everything lol) and it passed the safety inspection when they put new tires/alignment etc...   :D

Maybe the shop purposefully sabotaged the radio so you would have to return and give them your monies?!?!?  INGENIOUS!!  LOL.  On the serious, it might be something minor that a quick investigation might find and you could simply fix it yourself.  Hope it works out Denny.

I don't know what to think about my garage, I think I'll start looking for a new one. They want to charge me 1100 for new struts and labor and some people have told me I'm getting screwed. Plus when I got my brake switch fixed, she quoted me 115 dollars...."Kerry isn't that like a 6 dollar part?" She scrambled on the phone for a second and gave me another price that was less than half....hmmmm....

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: CrackerTeg on September 05, 2012, 08:23:00 PM
Yeah. You're getting screwed at your garage. Those sound like stealership prices. Now, was that 1100 quote for all four or just a pair?

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: Nit3h4wk C0uP3 on September 05, 2012, 08:34:05 PM
It was for all four quick struts, Monroe to be exact. Which I read somewhere aren't the best for imports..

Post by: timot_one on September 05, 2012, 08:58:53 PM
Yeah.  For that kind of money, you can get a decent aftermarket set.  Hell, if you get an aftermarket suspension, I'll install it for you.  But you gotta come to Ohio.

Honestly I see it at my part time job all the time. They quoted you a real high number before even calling on the parts. Same with the brake switch she had no clue the part was so cheap. They are not giving proper estimates they seem to shoot high and if you get the work done there they keep the difference.

Shocks use springs as a separate component.
Struts have springs built in and are considered to be one unit.

We have shocks.

So I stopped at a garage down the street from my house to check it out. Ed's Honnda & Accura garage. He's been there for 17 years (how did I not see this place before?) And I asked him for shits n' giggles how much he would charge to install my shocks.. $200.oo...!! So let's do some math. 1100 (quote from my garage) minus 544. (Cost of parts plus 200 to pay Ed to install) = me laughing all the way home lol Hi Ed nice to meet you! :D

Truth be told, I royally fucked up both my front fenders with the rolling and pulling for my old wheels. Either I can pay someone to bring them back to their stock glory, rolled of course, or I can replace them and roll.

It is aftermarket but $230 shipped for a painted fender is a decent deal.  If you get both fenders you get 5% off.

There should be a cable from the trunk release lever to the trunk lock.  Wiring would only affect the key fob opening your trunk.

Looks like I have some more parts I need, according to the guy who put in my shocks..he implied some people would consider it unsafe...first time I went to this shop though...he was going on about how metal parts aren't what they used to be..

My tattoo is a quote about caffeine lol I left the pic at work I can post it tomorrow, I think i'm leaning toward the inside of my forearm.

Definitely inner arm. Word of advice, check with hubby to make sure he's cool with it because you aren't the only one that's going to see it everyday and don't just go ahead and do it after you've been drinking. Ask me how I know that.

Denny is the only person I know that loves coffee as much as I do.

When it comes to tattoos, I always try to consider when it's going to be seen too.  Z has a great point, but you want to make sure that it doesn't hurt any future employment opportunities.  That's one reason why I haven't got the tattoos I want.

So i'm bringing her in this weekend for an oil change..and i may have some extra cash to fix something else while it's there. It's unlikely that i'll be able to get the suspension parts i need in time.. so i'm not sure what to fix? My display in the top of my dash doesn't work..or the park, reverse,  drive lights in my cluster don't light up either...or i could fix my gas door..but i have a system of opening it now so i'm not concerned about that. Is there any fluids i should change out? It's been a year...or should i just save the $ and bring it back for the suspension parts?

Alright, this is my stupid question for the week, what is the technical name for this "nightrider" thing, (that's what I call it) and how do I go about making it stay lit up constantly? Is it as easy as changing the fuse? It seems to react to my foot on the gas, which is weird.

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: gargantula99 on November 17, 2012, 07:54:27 PM
I always thought that's called the upper display unit but I can't find the part number on the Honda parts website. As to why it dims, that sounds like a wiring issue not a fuse issue. If it were the fuse, I'm pretty sure it would light up at all.

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: Rich01 on November 17, 2012, 11:17:47 PM
Denny, the light dimming may be related to faulty solder joints on the circuit board of that display, at least, that was what mine was. Check out this thread:
http://elitecm.net/forums/index.php?topic=3959.0 (http://elitecm.net/forums/index.php?topic=3959.0)

Nelson, Clemente posted the part# in there also.

I have a feeling the cord is probably a PITA to replace but $400 is ridiculous.

Yeah it looks like a PITA...whats that clear plastic tube that's just hanging behind the fabric over the gas door inside? It just ends...doesn't that belong somewhere? Lol

It's actually not that bad in the sedan.  It's a slightly bigger pain in the coupe because of the rear interior panels.  Not sure about the clear plastic tube.  Pics?

During my "fisting session" in the car, I found a black rubber insert, attached to the side, and the tube fit right in.... i'm guessing that's it's home. I'm giving it another go with my friend Jason tomorrow, I'll take some pics of said random tube and the cruddy wire repair lol

That's awesome.  When I lived in New England, I thought most of the girls were a bit frigid.

That tube may be intended to vent gas fumes.

Yeah, that's the vent tube from the tank for when you fill up.

So, with the wiring, are you having problems with your lights or anything electrical in the back end of the car?

I took the electrical tape off, one side of the connection was cracked, and it doesn't stay together on it's own. I held it together and re-taped it. Obviously a temporary fix...when I pulled the lever the door popped, I couldn't believe it ....I was like "that's it?" Lol.

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: CrackerTeg on December 06, 2012, 11:04:00 AM
Here's the link to the actual part:
http://www.whitelinesuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=BHR61 (http://www.whitelinesuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=BHR61)

As for their reputation, I couldn't tell you. How much did you pay for it if you don't mind my asking? Considering its a 20mm RSB, you could have gotten the OEM TLS RSB. Personally, I've never messed with an adjustable RSB so I couldn't tell you much about them.

Nah. You'll be fine. I've heard mention of Whiteline but like I said, I don't know too much about them. Anyway, after looking through the install PDF, if you're looking for near stock TLS feel, the middle hole on the tangs would probably be the best bet to put the endlinks on. In your case, I would start off with the outer opening for the softer feel then see how it goes from there. This would be your first lowered and modified car right? I can't remember.

This is my first anything car...I've only had my license for 2 years..

Edit: Before anyone asks me how I "lost" my license....I never had it...yes i'm the tard that's worked at 3 or 4 different dealerships and went to car shows with my dad and I was afraid to drive...terrified even...what a dummy...I wanna slap past me in the face, with a brick lol

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: CrackerTeg on December 06, 2012, 02:16:26 PM
In that case, definitely go with the softest setting on that RSB. Anything tighter than that and you can most definitely slap yourself across the face with a brick. Being an automotive noob and all.

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: CrackerTeg on December 06, 2012, 03:43:17 PM
To start, yes. Its already a considerably thicker bar than stock so the chances of oversteer are greater. Your car has a natural tendency to understeer (most cars do thanks to manufacturers designing their cars for the masses). The stiffer and thicker the rear bar is, the easier it is for the ass end of your car to swing out when you don't want it to.

When I had my tein's on softest setting, they would be too bouncy for my tastes.  Reminded me of Dot in Finding Nemo, when she's bouncing on top of the jelly fish going bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy......

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: ikethegreat on December 07, 2012, 08:18:58 AM
You can probably pick the bolt from the dealer for only a few bucks.

As for the RSB, in all honesty you will probably never feel the difference between the three different settings.    When I upgraded my oem to the TL-S ones, I never really felt a difference.  I was already on stiff coilovers at that point so that might have been why.

Actually those bottles are all empty, old. And one of them is filled with rose petals and has a sappy love poem on the front.

But I do have 3 bottles of wine in the fridge lol I've been drinking more beer...

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: alpha on January 24, 2013, 10:11:12 PM
For an honest critique, the profile of the LHD headlight and fender seems a bit slimmer than the RHD side; the Honda badge looks off center, and the RHD foglight seems out of perspective.

But that's me being nitpicky, and I would also take it with a grain of salt, because I may not know what I'm talking about either.  Overall, I like it; good work!

Post by: Nit3h4wk C0uP3 on January 24, 2013, 10:19:29 PM
Yeah I knew it was in that fender/light area, and the H could be moved a little to the left.. I started this on copy paper so I can only erase so many times.. I'll use better paper next time! Fo Shame! lol

Seat belt buckle getting replaced free of charge :) also, the car had a P1298 code hiding in the background. Something about high voltage and the electronic load detector. No check engine light right now, but the silly fuse box is like 500 + bucks! Pray the light stays off! Lol

Yeah. The seat belt issue that a lot of Accords have is a warranty replacement since the restraint system has a lifetime warranty.

Sucks about the fuse box. If you need one, look up Beaver's in North or South Carolina. They're a Honda/Acura specific salvage yard. I got the $600 Accord Hybrid EPS harness from them for about $200.

So I couldn't deal with my stockness anymore and I put my front lip on. Only now it's raining lol and i'm trying to find a way to secure it better, currently there's one screw in each side, I don't feel good about this. Any suggestions? My lip didn't come with hardware. I was going to wait until the body work was fixed and everything was perfect, well it probably won't ever be perfect so i've decided I'd rather just enjoy it :)

There should be four or five bolts that go underneath the car. I think they're 10 mm bolts.

Two screws go on each side by the bumper edge. If that makes any sense.

So I picked up my car today, and I feel like a giant asshole, because I guess someone had welded a bunch of the bolts/screws/whatever. So it really gave them a hard time. (Does it ever not give anyone a hard time?) Good news is i'll never have to pray my gas door opens again. I feel bad for causing service a headache though. :(

It drains out from your front wheel wells. If you don't see anything physically stuck in the hole, try pouring some water down it and check to see if it is draining out from the wheel well or not.

Denny, passenger side drain tube is in the front and the drivers side is towards the rear.

I found the driver's side tube, and I blew some air through it, then poured some water. It came out right behind my wheel, hopefully I unclogged the clog. I'll find out the next time it rains...

Thanks for the link i'm going to check it out now...

Also, I was really amazed at how easily the interior pillar came off...

You could always get Rob to sit inside the car and then you run the hose over your roof.

To figure out why everything is misaligned, and to have everything repainted. One fender is just a lost cause, and the other might be covered by Honda because of all the cracks in it. But they're not sure exactly what the issue is until they take it apart..

Ok, this is getting a bit frustrating. Nov 2012 I bought a foglight kit (2d) from Amazon. I didn't open the box. My bad I know! Last weekend I finally got around to having someone help me install them. I talked to the AFH parts dept and the kit is discontinued, but some parts are available. Not the bracket. I emailed the seller and I got the "oh well it's past 90 days too bad" answer. Does anyone know where I might be able to get this bracket(s) without buying a whole new kit? I'm not sure if I should be mad at myself or not...probably..

Car wouldn't start this morning. I think it's a power issue. Hit the battery connections like Z suggested and it slowly came back to life. It was sitting in the grass all weekend. I moved it off the grass and let it run for a bit. I ended up getting a ride to work just to be safe. I'll look at it when i get home,  hopefully it'll be ok.

Lol I will take pics :)

Nope, will schedule alignment after Oct 11th. ....Actually, I have to check my NTB package that I got, and see if I get a free one.

Yes ;) the reflection in cars in front of me throws me off. I'm like. Oh, it's me lol.

I love how it picks up road signs so well, even at a distance. Visibility is great.

Update: picking up a NHBP undamaged 07 trunk this upcoming Monday. So the only thing I need is the rear bumper, and some parts for wiring up my tails. As soon as the weather is clear of the awful white stuff I'm off to the body shop to get all the dents fixed and the front end as well. :)

Edit: In an effort to better understand my engine, or any internal combustion engine, I purchased a plastic kit from Smithsonian. Lots of little plastic parts, and probably not the best representation of the heavy greasy engine. But half way through it now, I can understand how important a timing belt is, and an oil pan. I'm still building and i've had to take it apart twice already. It's frustrating and fun lol.

Yup. The service advisor I was working with left. I believe the cv boot and sway bar links. My steering has felt a little off. But I'm getting a second opinion on the rest.

OK update: I have collected all the parts I need to finish the 7.5 rear conversion. I got a black trunk lid and bumper from Brown's Salvage yard in Winchendon MA (highly recommend this place) and I got the tails from a member in V6P. I'll have my friend Jason help with the wiring and some rusty bolts.

Also...May 11th I'm dropping the car off at a local body shop. They're keeping it most of the week. They're going to fix all the dents on the car and find out what's up with my front end. Replacing the front with an 06 bumper and grill. I know I'll have to mod my lip to fit. ;) I can't friggin wait!

Finished the 7.5 conversion last weekend with Rob's help. ;) it looks weird I know. It took less than 4 hours with the two of us working on it. The tail lights were fairly straighforward, the new bumper attached the same as the old, and the trunk was only 4 bolts and some wires. I think we blew a fuse while messing with the trunk. I'll know more tomorrow. The new trunk opens and closes a lot smoother than my old one.

Picked the car up today! They couldn't get to every dent, I'll have to go back some other time. They said it was a wiring nightmare. Warren said to give him a break from my car and call him in a few months. They fixed a bunch of things they didn't need to. So I def appreciate it. My next thing is OEM fog lights and the elusive 7.5 rear lip!

So update time. In a mad dash to get my summer wheels on before this past Saturday, i dropped the car off in Manchester and picked it up Friday. Tires mounted, and installed. To be honest the wheels are wider than I expected. This whole thing has been a very much learn as I go lol.. I'm higher than I was when I dropped the car off. I really like the flush look, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do at this point. What have we learned from this children? 9.5 is too wide. 8 is better ROFL. Here's some pics..

So yeah, I'm thinking I have a few options. I can either take it as a learning experience, and just work towards getting new wheels, go a bit lower to close the gap, OR get some small fender flares and go lower. I'm checking out each option. I love the view from the side, although i think it's a little high.  Honest Thoughts?? It's ok, I can take it... ROFL..  On a positive note, the car drives a lot smoother and quieter, and new fog lights should be here this week.

I like the new wheels.  Maybe go a bit lower.  I'd skip the fender flares though.

I can't believe that guy didn't put the car on jack stands to roll the fenders...

Updates and etc.. Got everything ready to work on my fog lights with my friend Jason. Come to find out the 03 fog harness in my car is pinned differently than the 06 harness from the new set. The old switch was melted and was betting stuck:

(http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o80/dieselphle/20140704_130925_zpslgwbpg92.jpg) (http://s117.photobucket.com/user/dieselphle/media/20140704_130925_zpslgwbpg92.jpg.html)

Behold the warpage Lol. Ended up using a lighter and pliers and bent it back into shape. We get the switch working and go to install the lights only to find that the boxes for my headlights are so close to my fog light holes that the lights won't fit. :/
(http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o80/dieselphle/20140706_223131_zpsyuns1qtq.jpg) (http://s117.photobucket.com/user/dieselphle/media/20140706_223131_zpsyuns1qtq.jpg.html)

My front bumper was riveted on by the body shop. So there was no taking off of the bumper to relocate the boxes. Fog light install stops there Lol

On another note, these ended up in my trunk this weekend ;) Z rocks! I have some driveway patching to do before these are installed. #lower

nice accord..I have one like it, minus the navi.

I am curious though..why did you spend so much money on wheels and body stuff, when you could've spent the same or a bit more to get the horrible dents out of the side panel..?

I am not calling you out or anything..I once had a prelude which had a giant, deep dent in the rear quarter panel. It always bugged me till the day i got rid of the car...
It is an expensive job, but you'll love your car way more after the job.

If i made an actual salary, i would actually pay my local body shop to take each and every ding out of my cars body..I also love my cm7

anyways, welcome to the forum.
P.S. Excuse me if this subject has already been discussed..

It has already been discussed extensively. You should've seen the car when she first bought it. The previous owner's gf/ex wife/whatever beat the ever living shit out of the car with a baseball bat or something along those lines.

Oh believe me. I am more than aware of the dents and have gotten many quotes and have even looked at quarter panels in junk yards. Yes the car was hit with a baseball bat, don't worry it'll get fixed :)

Nice pictures.  You car is dying for a good polish Denny.

Title: Re:
Post by: Mike on November 18, 2014, 08:42:32 PM
I've got the polishing tools if you want to learn... Also be careful when considering quarter panel replacement. Even a junk yard panel will be very expensive and the often have rust issues at the welds (like mine...)

Title: Re:
Post by: Nit3h4wk C0uP3 on November 19, 2014, 07:22:47 AM
It was just an option I was exploring. I'm trying every avenue. I've been talking with a few people about trading a large art job for the repairs. Worst case scenario it'll get fixed at tax time.

Is PDR not an option?

Title: Re:

PDR wanted to charge 1k just for the quarter panel. They said it was a big job

New panel will be more than 1k. Have you considered trying to pull it yourself

Title: Re:

My friend Jason actually helped me pull out half of it. Yes it used to be worse. I have thought about trying to get behind the interior panels and push it out

"After all the body work is done it'll get sealed like the dodge in the background of the picture then it should be block sanded to double check for dents then resealed base coat and clear then it should get wet sanded and buffed."

Here's an update, talking to an aquiantance who does body work, he said they're doing a good job. Seems like there's a lot of work left to do. I'm guessing they will need to keep it another week.

Make sure you check it real good for any paint defects, like orange peel, paint runs, dust/dirt in the paint and over spray.

The paint has the texture of an orange peel.  It means they didn't do a very good job wet-sanding and buffing.

Title: Re: [PROFILE] Nit3h4wk C0up3
Post by: ikethegreat on May 18, 2015, 03:16:38 PM
It looks like they did a good job covering areas that shouldn't be painted so over-spray shouldn't be a problem.

Busted NAV update: my friend Jason took the DVD player from the trunk and opened it up. The lens was cloudy, so it was cleaned wirh q-tips and rubbing alcohol. He put everything back together and we re-connected all the wires.

The NAV was searching for satellites!  It's back! And I also have AC controls back!

But....

I still have no audio. :( (radio, voice commands etc.) Through researching today there seems to be a 5 digit anti-theft code that I need.

Title: Re:
Post by: Nit3h4wk C0uP3 on July 06, 2015, 05:55:21 PM
I got the radio serial # and went online and got the 4 digit code and the anti theft code. I tried both, they didn't work....I called Honda of America. Who basically walked me through everything I just did and nothing worked. They have opened a case with the tech department and he is supposed to call me tomorrow. There could be another code that works, or the system is not accepting any codes, and the head unit needs to be replaced :(

I remember when I got my car from a used car dealership, it didn't have the code. I took it to honda and got the navi code, but the radio code didn't work. They used the vin and serial numbers and still no luck. When I went back to where i got the car, they contacted the honda dealership that they do business with and was able to get it. Not sure how tho. Also, what anti-theft code is it asking for? I have 4 digit code that's typed into the navi and another 4 digit that you use the tune knob to enter into the radio.

Thanks! I'm having a few minor issues with it. Alarm going off and I'll need to do brakes soon. But I'm really liking it :)

About 5500, which I'm making payments on. It's the super base model. No bells, no extras.

... found the burning smell in the Subie, it needs head gasket work. I got a 2k estimate for that and a few other things. It seems, the seller is taking care of it! Fingers crossed!

Was it a private seller or a dealership?  If it was a private seller that was really lucky of you.

It was a small dealership, like maybe 3 or 4 people in the whole place, but they have an inspection station and all the same dealership paperwork.

I feel like this is the Accord all over again. Same thing, it needed 2k right out of the gate.

Updated a few things on the first page. Nothing at the moment to report, I've spent a lot of January talking to people, shops etc. I have a few things that have come in the mail.

I'm having the worst time finding someone or a shop that will help with the TSX dash install. One guy quoted me 800 to 1200 (I know it's going to be a big job) he didn't want to do it at first lol
I'll keep searching for a while, waiting on emails from a few other places, but I may have to hang that project up for a while.

This project is impossible. No one wants to touch it. "Sounds like some pimp my ride shit" ok. Scrap that idea lol

Hello all, update been parts collecting. Still haven't got the summer wheels entirely on but I'm feeling pretty good about this weekend :)

Dynamat is here and the last batch (hopefully) of feathers on the way, so I can finally get the headliner back in.

Having issues with my spoiler, I'm pretty sure the body shop kind of screwed it up by drilling holes in it.

Multiple things going on at once per usual lol

Where did you get your radiator cover done? I've been looking for a place to hydro dip a few pieces of my car.

I wonder how well the dip hold up on high heat parts like calipers.

Ugh, some of you know...i curbed my wheel driving through a local college campus and it's not fixable -__-. Luckily I have a spare. The damaged wheel will be made into a sweet end table.

I haven't done much else with the car this year. I bought a set of inspires in early spring, they're sitting, waiting. I also replaced the alternator with some help from my friend Henry and I upgraded the battery to a V6 battery. There's still time left in the year so who knows lol
