^rich, I've got a 97 and a 98 mazda 626.. both are beaters.. the 98's engine blew on me back in 04, new swapped in early 05, and then blew again 6 months later.. not too happy with the v6's for that car.. but the 97 626 is a 4 cylinder MT, it's good on gas...
go figure...isn't Mazda owned by Ford?
I do believe they are. Many of their chassis are shared.

I was going to get a DB4/DC2, but have no place to put it if I don't put it on the road. I miss my old 16v MkII GTi, but it was a fucking pain in the ass to work on. I'm trying to get Cham's R32 as a 2nd car.

Aren't any of you know-it-all's going to ask me what the hell a BOV is?

HAHAHA I knew it was going to be your smartass to respond!
BOV = Bug Out Vehicle
Diesel because it doesn't need electric components to work...so it is safe from EMP

Electromagnetic Pulse not sure why you would build a vehicle immune to this but to each his own.

Well I was thinking on the lines of "getting out of dodge" if "the shit hits the fan" such as a solar flare large enough to cause EMP...or WMD's capable of it. But that is very situation specific, and there are much higher risks of other threats before wither of those. But a BOV is basically a vehicle to get you from point A to point B. It should be reliable, stockable, and large enough to carry your family and your supplies to get you to "higher grounds" (in case of tsunami)
I have been watching too much history and discovery channels I think...2012, Nostradamus, Mayan's etc...

Here's our other ride that I inherited back in October when my grandfather passed. It's a 2000 Chrylser 300M 3.5L with 60K miles.

Those are supposed to be SUPER comfortable...actually I think that's a known thing about Chryslers. Sorry to hear about your grandfather, I lost mine about 2 years ago now...I still miss him everyday.
